G & M PROPERTY MANAGEMENT GAINS EXPOSURE AND NEW CONTRACTING OPPORTUNITIES
 
BACKGROUND
 
G& M Property Management, Inc., a landscaping and design service company provides ground maintenance and a full compliment of landscaping services,in the South Florida area. G & M came to Carte Consulting for help in expanding their business. The owners felt that their business was much too dependant upon its residential customer base and suspected that they could improve profitability by expanding into the commercial markets prevalent in South Florida.
 
ANALYSIS
 
The Carte team of experts evaluated the company’s opportunity for expansion. Carte uncovered the need to improve the firms image, update their licensing and insurance to be able to handle commercial clients, and create a marketing campaign to target market to the firms ideal customer. Carte identified that the company primarily gained new business by word of mouth referrals, the reputation of the business was excellent, but the company lacked a sales effort and sales force. The owner was the sales force and between management of the business and its employees, he didn’t have the time to devote to sales. The company presently was refusing new residential customers, because of their desire for commercial business.
 
RESULTS
 
The Carte team advised the business owner of his needs, developed a target list of potential customers, and provided operations advice to streamline the business and better organize the owners time. Carte using its professional sales team and network of multifaceted business and association contacts, provided a plan to G & M to introduce the company to Home Owner Associations, Condominium Associations, government entities and corporations. The Carte Marketing team produced professional collateral materials missing from the companies portfolio. A system was put in place to allow BIDS to be completed electronically and in time to meet deadlines. The owner now armed with the tools for success is excited and seeing results.
